When the pandemic started taking hold in our area in March of 2020, many people ended up working from home. After it appeared that the pandemic might last a while, many wanted to convert spare bedrooms into offices, but still wanted to maintain the option of having a spare bedroom when family members or friends visited.

During the year 2020 I built 8 Murphy bed units, 2021 I built 8, and in 2022 I built 10. All but one were queen size and a mix of Vertical and Horizontal configurations. In addition, some of my customers asked for additional trim styles, cabinetry, and shelving to be included with their projects.

Now that we are into 2023, I am getting ready to make more Murphy Bed units. As long as people ask for them, I will take on the projects as time allows.

The price of plywood lumber is still quite high, and hardware costs have increased significantly. But that being said, if people need a unit built, I will quote prices that will still make the custom-made beds affordable.

As of April of 2023, I anticipate a basic queen vertical murphy bed with simple two panel trim style to cost $2,750. Horizontal style will be $2,850. Customizations and increased trim complexity will be added to the basic prices. The prices include delivery and installation within 75 miles of my Milwaukee home.
